If you’re a rapper or a producer that is currently trying to make it I want to start by telling you that bright days are coming for you.I know that you’ve been going through some failures and frustration too, but if you’re still at it and didn’t give up all I can say is congratulations, your time is coming !
I just want to give you some advice on how to keep moving forward when the going is hard. Everybody that’s famous and successful experienced failure and adversity. That’s normal. That’s just the way life is training your for your success. One of the main differences between successful and unsucessful rap artists and producers is that the successful don’t give up when the going is hard.
Think about it . What’s your purpose ? Why are you doing this ? Are you in for the money ? Good. Money is a good motivation. But I really have to tell you the truth : if only money is motivating you , that means you’re not in this game for the love of it. And that’s not good at all. Why ? Because you can make money anywhere, in any field of activity. But if you choose to be a rapper that means you love this music, you love the hip hop culture and you love this way of life. That also means that you have a vision, a different approach to it. Or at least, you should have one.
So when you get all the money, what are you going to do ? You have enough now, what’s your next move ? That’s why you need a vision, something that’s only yours. This is really easy to express. Why ? Because that’s YOU ! Nobody else in this world is exactly like you. That’s why you have to put out that way of seeing the wolrd, through your music.
As a rapper and also as a producer you need to come up with something new to the game. And since you are doing YOU that means nobody else did it before, so something new is not hard to find. Find it withing you. How do you do that? Think of your TRUE self. Who are you ? What do YOU like ? What you enjoy doing ? What are your favourite things in life ? When you figure it out, translate it into music. THAT’S HOW YOU MAKE IT. You came a long way , too far to give up. You need to let everybody know about who you are. They will love you for who you really are. Are you courageous enough to be yourself ?
Tell your story ! Express your vision !
